There is an ongoing need for emergency rent assistance to families who have not yet received employment. The economy is still recovering, and we need all the help we can find to support the ones who are no longer on our caseloads, but still need assistance. Currently, there are three families ($700.00 each) that will not be able to pay rent for next month. We are looking for donations to assist them as much as we can. If you are able to give, please send your checks to 218 Omohundro Place, Nashville, TN 37210, and mark “rent assistance” in the memo line. Your donation is tax-deductible.

Friendship partners are needed to help a new refugee adapt and adjust to American life by providing friendship, advice, and companionship.  This is a long term commitment but perhaps the most important and most rewarding aspect of World Relief.  Some training will be required.  If you are interested, please leave a comment or email Elizabeth Timbs, World Relief Volunteer Coordinator, at ETimbs@wr.org .  This is an ongoing need.

Office workers are needed to assist World Relief staff with general clerical duties.  This is an ongoing need.  If you are interested, please leave a comment or email Elizabeth Timbs, volunteer coordinator, at ETimbs@wr.org

ESL tutors/conversation partners to build relationships and engage refugees by teaching survival English topics to an individual or family.  This is an ongoing need.  For more information, leave a comment or email Elizabeth Timbs, volunteer coordinator at ETimbs@wr.org .
